316L Stainless Steel Plate 5mm 2B Finish

316L stainless steel plate in 5 mm thickness with a 2B finish is supplied in 1500 × 3000 mm sheets. The molybdenum-bearing chemistry resists chloride pitting while the mid-range gauge stays light enough to shear, roll and press-brake on standard workshop equipment — a practical size for chemical equipment, water treatment, food processing, coastal structures and precision fabrication.

At 5 mm the plate is stiff enough for tank shells, baffles, ducting and base plates, yet still formable enough for rolling, bending and plasma or laser cutting. The chemistry suits chloride-bearing service: molybdenum improves pitting resistance, and the restricted carbon content of 0.030% maximum limits carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone, so welded joints retain their corrosion resistance without post-weld annealing. Common end uses include chemical reactor linings, processing equipment, heat-exchanger parts, water-treatment components, marine fitments and fabrication in humid or wash-down environments.

Because orders are usually placed against drawings, we supply stainless steel plate in standard mill sizes as well as cut-to-length formats, each shipment accompanied by a mill test certificate for full traceability. Shearing, bending and edge trimming can be arranged to your tolerance requirements.
