This 22 mm deformed steel bar (rebar) is rolled in HRB500E, the 500 MPa seismic grade, and supplied in 12-meter lengths for concrete members that must keep their ductility under earthquake loading. The “E” suffix is what matters: besides the higher yield strength, HRB500E guarantees a minimum maximum-force elongation and a capped yield-to-tensile ratio, so the bar stretches further before it fractures.

HRB500E 22mm rebar is specified where seismic demand governs: columns, shear walls, coupling beams and beam-column joints in high-rise buildings, plus bridge piers, pile caps and industrial structures in high seismic zones. At 22 mm the bar is strong enough to cut the number of bars in a congested cage while staying practical to bend and tie on site, and the transverse ribs develop a reliable mechanical bond, so anchorage and lap lengths can follow the design. Because E-grade steel carries the highest alloy content in the carbon rebar family, bending should respect the minimum mandrel diameters in the drawings.
