OCTG Tubing Pipe 2-7/8 inch J55

Shaanxi Shuncheng Tian Steel Co., Ltd. supplies 2-7/8 inch J55 OCTG tubing manufactured to API 5CT (ISO 11960 equivalent) for oil and gas production wells. The 2-7/8 in (73.02 mm) outside diameter is the most widely used tubing size in the industry, and the J55 grade offers a practical strength level for production, injection and service wells at moderate depth. Strings are supplied in R1, R2 and R3 length ranges with couplings fitted and thread protectors in place.

This 2-7/8 inch J55 tubing is run inside casing to lift oil and gas to surface, but the same string is also used for water and gas injection, completion fluid circulation and well servicing. Operators specify it for onshore production wells, coal-bed methane projects, water supply boreholes and geothermal wells where a moderate yield strength and good weldability are enough. Tubing is ordered with external upset ends so the coupling does not reduce the internal drift, and with non-upset ends where a flush outside diameter matters. Because J55 is a carbon-manganese grade rather than a high-strength one, it is readily re-threaded, cut and repaired at the rig site.
