Deformed steel bar (rebar) HRB400 32mm is a large-diameter hot-rolled ribbed reinforcing bar with a nominal yield strength of 400 MPa, supplied in standard 12-meter lengths for heavily loaded reinforced concrete structures. Each 32 mm bar carries roughly four times the cross-sectional area of a 16 mm bar, so fewer bars are needed for the same design load — an advantage in massive foundations, transfer beams and other dense reinforcement cages where fixing space is tight.

HRB400 32 mm deformed steel bar is specified for members that must carry very large forces with practical bar spacing: columns and core walls of high-rise buildings, transfer beams and deep beams, bridge piers and abutments, pile caps, raft and machine foundations, and heavy civil structures such as retaining walls and water tanks. The large diameter keeps bar counts and on-site labour down, while the deformed surface locks the bar into the concrete for reliable bond and anchorage. Bars can be cut, bent and tied on site to the structural drawings, and mechanical couplers can be used where lapping is difficult.
